Dr. Tung on naturopathic medicine:
“I truly believe in the principles of naturopathic medicine and feel they
can be applied to much more than
healthcare – it’s such a great way to approach life. I also loved the idea
that you could practice modern,
science-based medicine and combine
it with traditional or alternative
medicines that have been in practice
for thousands of years.  I grew up
learning and practicing traditional
Chinese medicine. I knew these
medicines worked and was thrilled
to discover a medical field that
combined the best of both worlds.”

Dr. Tung and acupuncture:
"I had my first acupuncture treatment
when I was 5 years old.  I woke up
with wry neck one morning.
I could not move my neck and when
I tried it was extremely painful.  My
parents asked  my grandfather to
give me an acupuncture treatment.
I remember being extremely fearful
of the needles, but after my
grandfather put some needles in my
hand and neck, I was able to move
my neck again.  I was amazed!
And as I got older, I learned more
about traditional Chinese medicine
from my parents.  I learned about the philosophy behind the medicine
and how we incorporate it into
everyday life - from the foods and
herbs we eat to lifestyle and attitude.
It is now something I try to pass on
to my patients."
